What’s on your Activist Agenda in 2022?

Are you interested in making the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party more dynamic and Progressive? Are you interested in preventing a fascist takeover of our country by the Republicans in 2022 and 2024? If the answer to those two questions is yes, please consider running for Precinct Committee Leader / Central Committee Member in your precinct next year.

In the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party (CCDP), the Precinct Leader and the Central Committee Member are in the same position. Central Committee Members in the CCDP have two main responsibilities. 1) Get out the vote in your precinct at election time and 2) Elect a CCDP Party Chair for a four year term beginning in the summer of 2022. We are hopeful that we will find a progressive party chair candidate that CCPC Central Committee members can support when this election takes place next summer. We know that many of you are devoted activists and did everything you could to fight the Trump Regime between 2017 and 2021. If you’re following the news you know that this fight is not yet over. Getting Democrats to turn out and vote in 2022 and 2024 is vitally important to saving us from a Trump return to power.

There are three links below. The first link is to the CCDP’s description of the position and what you need to do to get elected. The second link is to a video of last May’s CCPC Membership meeting where we described our role in party politics and the precinct committee project in some detail. The third link is a website for a coalition CCPC is part of called “Build Back Cuyahoga”, which includes a form which we’re asking you to fill out if you decide to run.
